Understanding Lend-A-Hand RV Handrail

Alright, so to understand this concept, the Lend-A-Hand RV Handrail is designed to provide additional support while entering or exiting an RV. Simple, right? What’s more, is that it is made of durable aluminum material and can be installed on the side of the RV door (which is the most generalized location) or at the bottom of the RV steps (which is part of another system called Rail Mate).

The handrail itself is easy to install and remove, making it a great option for RVers who want to take it on the road with them. For a great representation of installing a hand rail on your RV, I recommend watching this almost 10-minute video that explains just this:

If you haven’t watched the video, or want to watch it after you finish reading the article, then let me explain one of the key benefits of the Lend-A-Hand RV Handrails.

It is that it provides a secure and stable grip for all people that use it, more specifically for those with limited mobility or balancing issues. Additionally, it can help prevent slips and falls when entering or exiting your RV, which can be a common occurrence, particularly in wet or icy conditions, or even if you are plain old clumsy.

Primary Purpose and Focus of Lend-A-Hand RV Handrail

As mentioned already, the primary purpose of the handrail is to enhance the safety and security of people whom enter or exit the Fifth Wheel, Travel Trailer, Toy Hauler, or whichever unit you may be traveling with. This is particularly important for RVers with balancing problems, or for those who may even be traveling with young children or pets.

Also, the Lend-A-Hand RV Handrail is designed to be easy to use and convenient for RVers. It folds in either direction when not straight out, and the foam grip makes it for easier handling.

It can be quickly installed and removed, making it a great option for those who don’t want to permanently modify their RV, plus if you do leave it attached, the aluminum rail will resist rust. Pretty good for a product made in the USA.

This is a really great product. I always prefer working with companies that are family-owned and truly applaud them. In my experience, family-owned companies do tend to have a better understanding of the customer and what they really need.

I am planning to have a 2-week trip with our family, who is still very young at heart with a lot of pump for adventure still, but my aunt and Dad’s challenges with mobility has been a concern. This article gives me a great idea on how to best address this. Just getting an RV is actually more practical than travelling with the van, especially with such a great gadget as this extended assist handrail. This is something I’m thinking can even be a good investment to hire out during the times we are not travelling.

I like the different shapes that they offer of this handrail, each with a unique gripping position to choose from. And the fact that it is aluminum will become really useful with the cold wet weather conditions we often experience.

It would have been nice though if you could perhaps place a direct link to the pages on each of the 3 parts you are mentioning: the mini assist, the standard assist and extended handrail. I had trouble finding the mini assist and standard assist option on their website. As I want to compare what exactly are the main differences between these three handrails.

Do you perhaps have a recommendation of a handrail that does not need to be installed onto the vehicle in a way that leaves any defects to the vehicle? I am however interested in this particular handrail. So, is there an alternative way or recommendation you may have on how to install this handrail, without needing to bore holes in the vehicle?

I’m glad to hear that you found the extended assist handrail mentioned in the article to be a great solution for addressing the mobility challenges of your family members during your upcoming trip. Using an RV instead of a van can indeed offer more practicality and convenience, especially with the added benefit of the extended assist handrail.

Regarding your question about alternative installation methods for the handrail that don’t require drilling holes in the vehicle, it’s important to note that the specific installation options may vary depending on the manufacturer and model of the handrail you choose. While I don’t have access to the exact details of the handrail you mentioned, I can offer you some general alternatives to consider:

      1) Door-mounted options: Some handrails are designed to be attached to the door frame of the vehicle using clamps or brackets. This eliminates the need for drilling holes and allows for easy removal when not needed. However, it’s essential to ensure that the door frame is strong and can support the weight and force applied to the handrail.
      2) Suction cup-mounted options: Certain handrails come with suction cups that can be attached to smooth surfaces like windows or other suitable parts of the vehicle. This installation method offers convenience and easy removal without leaving any permanent marks or damage.
      3) Adjustable tension-mounted options: These handrails utilize a tension-based system to secure them in place. They can be adjusted to fit between the floor and ceiling or between other sturdy surfaces, providing stability without the need for drilling.

It’s worth noting that the specific alternative installation methods will depend on the design and features of the handrail you choose. To find out the available options for the particular handrail you are interested in, I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer directly. They will be able to provide you with detailed information on installation alternatives and any specific instructions or accessories that might be necessary.

As for the direct links to the different handrail options and their pages, unfortunately, I don’t have the ability to provide you with live links at this time, however, you can try conducting a search using the product name or visit the manufacturer’s website to explore the different handrail options they offer.

Look for product descriptions, specifications, and customer reviews to help you understand the differences between the mini assist, standard assist, and extended handrail.
