Small dehumidifiers can be hard to source out for RVs, but they’re not impossible! We can all admit throughout our adventures of camping, at some point in time or another, there have been mornings where you wake up, and there’s moisture on the windows and walls.

There is sense of panic… But don’t! As I have you covered for the most common answer to the ultimate question: What are the best small dehumidifiers for RVs? This includes a Fifth Wheel vs Travel Trailer, and even toy haulers & motorhomes.

I will give you my list of good, better, and best small dehumidifiers – RV, so you can make your educated decision based on my research! To start, we first need to know how many square feet you have in your unit.

Smaller units don’t need a huge capacity tank; therefore, you can eliminate big, bulky dehumidifiers as such would be better in your home, basement, or garage.

The most common dehumidifier tank sizes, based on an average trailer length of 32′, is a 22 Pint tank capacity, which covers approx. 1500sq’. Keeping this in mind, we will base our search results off of this.

Good choice:

First up on the small dehumidifiers – RV list is –

DampRid – Moisture Absorber

Key features of this non-electric dehumidifier are:

  • -Small, 4lb capacity
  • -1000 sq’ coverage
  • -Lasts up to 6 months, temperature pending
  • -Built in moisture lock spill resistor
  • -Cheapest option available

Better Choice:

Chances are you need something more “powerful”…Let’s look at a couple of options in this category that you should consider as your next go-to’s for small dehumidifier – RV:

  1. 1) Frigidaire FFAD3533WI 35 Pint Portable Moderate Dehumidifier

When looking at this unit, you would absolutely be sure it is name brand backed behind great reviews.

This particular model covers a slightly larger area at 3000sq’, plus it’s available in 22-, 35- or 50-Pint options.

Some features include:

  • -Continuous drain OR Front loading/unloading bucket
  • -Easy to Clean Filter
  • -Energy Star Certified
  • -24hr on/off, Auto Restart, and 3 Fan Speeds

2. 2) De’Longhi 35 Pint Dehumidifier with Pump

Like the Frigidaire, this unit boasts 3000sq’ coverage, as well as a 35 Pint tank capacity. With a few more high-tech features, such as:

  • -Damp Reducing, Household Odors, & Humidity Control
  • -24 hr-timer
  • -Pump System with Hose
  • -2 speed options
  • -5.0 Energy Star Rating
  • -2 drain methods (Hose or Front Bucket)
  • -Dual Filtration
  • -Portable and Versatile

Both of the above-mentioned units are slightly bigger than average, but for those over 32′ RVs, something like this is more than sufficient.

Best Option:

As far as competition goes, I’ve discovered that this small dehumidifier – RV capable unit is rather unique.

Midea 1500sq’ Energy Star Certified Dehumidifier 22 Pint

This specific model is available in 1500, 3000 and 4000sq’ options, or in translation, 22-, 35-, or 50-Pint capacity options.

The Newer model of this (which is actually designed smaller and box-like) is called the Midea 20 Pint Cube.

However, I feel the features for the Standard model are still rather impressive, and they are as follows:

  • -Auto-restart due to power outages
  • -Adjustable Humidity Control from 35% to 85%
  • -Maintainable 45% – 55% Humidity Range
  • -Low dBA Rating
  • -1 Yr Parts and Labour Service

Personal Option:

I personally found another model at Home Hardware last year that has not disappointed, and that is equally impressive as some better options in this list.

Its brand is: KOOLKING 2 Speed 22 Pint Portable Dehumidifier and its features are:

  • – Adjustable Push Button Thermostat
  • – 24/7 Timer and Digital Display
  • – Turbo Speed
  • – Comfort Mode
  • – Filter Clean Indicator
  • – Front Unloading Bucket OR Continuous Drain (Hose not included)

I believe the Company name behind this model is Omnimax, in which it would also be available in the US under a different model name called Classic. Classic brands (including the KoolKing brand) have recently changed to the name of Omnimax.

In Conclusion:

Now that we’ve went through some options, and discovered our choices, we have to admit, choosing dehumidifiers aren’t too difficult.

Key things we’ve learned to go through our choices were:

  • -Knowing your RVs Square Footage; Multiply Length of RV x Width of RV = Area of RV (Square Footage); Example: 32’x8’6″=275sq’
  • -Knowing a 1500sq’ OR 22 Pint Dehumidifiers is MORE THAN CAPABLE of removing the Humidity and maintaining a level of 45% – 50%.
  • -Knowing that small dehumidifiers – RV products are available everywhere, and more importantly, only a click away!

  1. thanks for sharing, we just bought an RV and I like the information about the dehumidifier. To be honest, I never thought about this because most of my camping has always been in a tent would much need for one there. In a lot of things to consider when going camping in the trailer, there are a ton of things to think about. Did I bring enough food, did we bring enough water for the regular camping trip? What did I forget? It’s not like you can go to the store next door so once again thanks for sharing. This is very informative and you covered it quite well. Thanks I will continue to keep following.
