Oh my gosh, who knew there would one day be an APP for camping!  I’m 55 years old, so apps are a new thing for me, unlike for young people who just accept this as normal lol.  I don’t do a lot of camping (thus my search for help which brought me to your post!), but when I was a teenager I went camping often with my boyfriend and his family.  We’d go for long weekends in a super secluded area.  I absolutely loved being there.  It was so fun and relaxing!  Thanks for the info!

Hey Debra, thanks for sharing! It’s awesome to hear about your past camping experiences—it really shows how much things have changed.

Back then, camping was all about disconnecting. Now, these apps help campers explore more, stay safe, and plan better trips, whether they’re new to camping or lifelong adventurers like you.

I totally get why it’s surprising to see apps in the mix, but they really do enhance the experience without taking away the adventure. That’s why I kept this list focused on the most useful ones instead of overwhelming people with endless options.

If you ever decide to hit the road again, let me know which one you’d try first!

I’ve never been camping, and honestly, it kind of intimidates me—but it’s cool to see how technology is changing the experience.

One of the reasons I’ve always avoided camping is because I wouldn’t know what to do if something went wrong. But seeing that there are apps that help with survival tips, mosquito repellents, fishing guides, and even wildlife safety makes it sound a lot less overwhelming.

I still don’t think I’d go camping, but I’ll enjoy living vicariously through you guys. It’s great to know that if I ever did decide to try it, there’s tech to make it easier!

Hey Thomas, I love that you’re curious about the tech side of camping, even if you’re not jumping into a tent anytime soon!

You bring up a great point—these apps are like having a built-in camping guide. From mosquito repellents to wildlife safety tips, they help take the guesswork out of the experience.

And honestly, you’re not alone in living vicariously through others. That’s what makes sharing these experiences fun! Who knows—maybe one day an app will convince you to take the plunge.

Until then, keep the questions coming and enjoy the stories from the people who do head out into the wild!
