How Portable FT 600 Grill Works
This extremely rugged grill provides durability and functionality, which are two key elements of this product.
The thick griddle top, along with a heat diffusion plate and windbreakers, provide even heat distribution and a true seasoned surface.
The “collapsible legs are easy to fold up beneath the grill body, while opposing side shields fold inwards over the burners for added protection”.
The term portable means it can be used almost anywhere, such as tailgate parties, hunting lodges, or RV campsites.

Customer Reviews
Of 158 people that reviewed this product, the Portable Flat Top 600 has a 4.5 star of 5 rating. These are what some of them had to say:
I researched every flat top griddle on the market and the Camp Chef is the best regardless of price. From Camp Chef having built in wind guard on griddle, ability to level cart and griddle, two in one griddle and grill, pre seasoned griddle, and not having to always light burners in series, were just a few of the reasons I chose Camp Chef. After cooking on the FTG600 for the first time, I am now trying to find recipes for a good excuse to use it again and again. Just go buy one that fits your lifestyle and enjoy.
This grill has changed the way we camp we cook everything on it in minutes and the clean-up is awesome I can’t believe we camped without this for so many years my only regret is I didn’t buy it sooner
We use this grill camping. The grill easily folds up and stores nicely in our fifth wheel using the Camp Chef carry bag. Everything I cook on this grill comes out amazing whether it’s burgers, streaks, eggs, bacon, pancakes, and stir-fries to list a few. The cooking temperature surface is very consistent which is one of the reasons I upgraded from another popular brand. I won’t say what brand, but you all know who I’m talking about. We all know how the supply chain is these days since this epidemic started and I wasn’t surprised this grill wasn’t available when I first started looking at it. I did fill out the notify me when in stock on the Camp Chef website and it didn’t take long for me to get an email that the grill is available. Trust me when I say the wait is worth it. We couldn’t be more pleased with this grill. Yes, the griddle itself is heavy but that’s expected when you get a high-end grill. Buy this grill and you won’t be disappointed.
Pros and Cons
From my understanding and research, some Pros include:
- ~Camp Chef brand name is very popular
- ~Heavy Duty
- ~Exceptional customer service available through their “Contact Us” or “Live Chat” features on their Support Page
- ~Easy Rust Removal solution: “using Coca-Cola, let sit and then wash and re-season” your cast-iron griddle.
Undoubtedly, the Cons include:
- ~Accessories sold separately, which are:
- -Carry Bag
- -Hard Cover
- -Weather Resistant Cover
- ~Please note: that while the FTG600 and FTG600P are very similar in cooking surface, the FTG600P does not come with or is compatible with grill grates.
