Keeping Your RV Stable and Secure

When it comes to securing your RV, ensuring it stays put when you want it to is a top priority. That’s where the BAL X-Chock 2 Pack comes in. Unlike traditional wheel chocks that simply block movement, the X-Chock stabilizers work with your tires to apply opposing force and minimize unwanted shifting.

In this review, I’ll break down how this product works, its features, pros and cons, and whether it’s worth investing in.

Bal X-Chock 2 pack

How the BAL X-Chock Works

The BAL X-Chock 2 Pack is not your average wheel stabilizer. It’s designed to provide added stability for tandem axle RVs by reducing back-and-forth movement.

Here’s how it works:

  • A plated ratchet wrench adjusts a threaded rod, positioning the chock snugly between your RV’s tandem tires.
  • Unlike standard chocks, which block tire movement, the X-Chock stabilizes by creating opposing force between the tires.
  • The slimmer design fits a wider range of axle applications, making it versatile for different RVs.

This setup offers superior security and stability compared to traditional plastic chocks, which can shift under pressure.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Rust-Resistant Zinc Coating – Protects against corrosion, ensuring long-lasting durability.
  • Lightweight and Compact – Easy to store without taking up too much space.
  • Quick Setup – The included ratchet wrench makes installation simple.
  • Fits Various Tire Spacing – Works with 1-3/8″ to 10″ spacing, covering most tandem axle setups.
  • Optional Padlock Compatibility – Can be locked for added security (padlock sold separately).
  • Made in the USA – Quality craftsmanship from a trusted brand.

This stabilizer is built to last and provides peace of mind for RV owners who want extra security when parked.

Personal Pros and Cons

After using the BAL X-Chock 2 Pack, here’s what stood out:

What I Liked:

Noticeable Stability – Reduces RV movement significantly.
Easy to Install and Remove – The ratchet wrench makes adjustments simple.
Durable and Weather-Resistant – Holds up well in different climates.
Compact Design – Doesn’t take up much storage space.

What Could Be Improved:

Padlock Not Included – If you want extra theft protection, you’ll need to buy one separately.
Limited Use for Single-Axle RVs – Works best with tandem axle setups.

Overall, the benefits far outweigh the minor drawbacks.

What Other RV Owners Are Saying

The BAL X-Chock 2 Pack has received high praise from RV owners, with many noting its superior stability compared to traditional chocks. Here’s what customers are saying:

“Huge difference! No more shifting when walking inside the RV.” – Verified Amazon Buyer

“Easy to set up and works better than I expected. Worth the investment.” – RV Forum Member

“I wish I bought these sooner. The difference is night and day.” – RV Enthusiast

A few users mention that the padlock should be included, but aside from that, the overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive.

Pricing, Warranty, and Where to Buy

Final Thoughts – Is the BAL X-Chock Worth It?

If you’re looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, and highly effective wheel stabilizer, the BAL X-Chock 2 Pack is a solid investment.

Would I recommend it?
Yes, if you own a tandem axle RV and want to eliminate rocking and shifting.
Yes, if you camp on uneven terrain and need extra stability.
Not ideal for single-axle trailers, as it’s designed for tandem setups.

This is one of those RV accessories that you don’t realize you need until you try it. The difference in stability and peace of mind is worth it.

Jeremy, I love this review! I’m currently in the market for a motorhome and expect to be parking in a lot of different places. Stability is a huge concern, especially on uneven terrain, so this seems like a great investment.

I’ve used rubber wheel chocks in the past as a professional truck driver, but those only block movement rather than fully stabilizing the vehicle. This X-Chock system looks like it provides way better security by actually preventing shifting altogether.

I also think this might be something worth sharing with my company’s transportation safety department. It could be useful for fleet vehicles that require extra stabilization.

I’ve saved your website so I can return when I’m ready to purchase. Thanks for the detailed breakdown!

      Hey Joyce,

That’s awesome—you’re going to love motorhome life! Since you already have experience with rubber chocks, you’ll definitely appreciate how X-Chocks eliminate movement rather than just blocking the wheels. It’s a game-changer when it comes to stability.

And I think pitching this to your transportation safety department is a fantastic idea! These stabilizers could be super useful for fleet vehicles, commercial trailers, or even emergency response vehicles. If you ever run it by them, I’d love to hear their thoughts!

Whenever you’re ready to buy, let me know if you have any questions. Stay safe on the road!

      Cheers,
      Jeremy

What a smart product—I’m surprised more RV owners don’t use these! It’s reassuring to know that the X-Chock prevents shifting rather than just stopping roll-back. I imagine this also adds an extra layer of security against theft, since locked-up wheels mean a trailer can’t be towed away as easily.

One thing I’m curious about—do you need two per RV, or is one enough? I’d love to hear your thoughts before I buy a set.

      Hey Michel,

Great question! I’ll tell you this—most RV owners don’t realize how much stability they’re missing until they try these out. I used to see a lot of plastic chocks in campgrounds, but those don’t prevent the side-to-side rocking inside the RV like these do.

To answer your question: Two is the way to go. While you could get away with one in a pinch, it’s best to have one per side to fully prevent movement. If only one side is locked up, the other can still shift slightly, which defeats the purpose.

If you do grab a set, let me know how they work for you! And feel free to share this with other RVers who might need a more stable setup.

      Cheers,
      Jeremy
