What to Look for in an RV Washer and Dryer Combo

First and foremost, does your fifth wheel, toy hauler, or travel trailer have an area prepped for the best RV washer and dryer combo, and if so, have you considered all the factors before you proceed to choose?

The number one thing to think about first is size. A large unit will take up more space, but it will also handle more laundry with each cycle. With space, you’ll want to consider side by side models, 2-in-1 units or stackable options.

Second, you’ll want to keep in mind how much water and energy the unit uses. Most RV parks only supply 30 Amp and with the addition of A/C units AND Washer and Dryer combo’s, you’ll need to consider switching to a 50 Amp source. As well, not all hook-ups will include a water source. With an energy-efficient model, you will be able to keep costs down.

Thirdly and the final consideration to look for in a washer and dryer combo is that it is easy to install and use. Ensure you have accurate and detailed measurements from within the prep area, through the door, to the unit itself. If it’s not plug-and-play, don’t bother.

Measure it up!

Pros and Cons of a Portable RV Washer and Dryer

Once you know what you are looking for in a washer and dryer combo, you’ll have to consider some pros and cons of them. For example, if you’re looking for a more affordable option, a portable RV washer and dryer combo might be the way to go.

The main benefit of this type of unit is that it’s compact and easy to move around. However, portable units can be loud and can take longer to complete each cycle.

If such is the case with your portable option, then you’ll want to do the same with a built-in version.

Advantages of Installing a Built-In RV Washer and Dryer

Investing in a built-in washer and dryer combo can be an advantage if you have the room and the budget for it. Built-in units are more energy-efficient than portable models and take up less space. Plus, it’s easy to keep the unit clean and running smoothly.

Downside to these units are that they are exactly that, built-in, and not portable. If you plan to upgrade your RV in the future, it might be more convenient to utilize a portable option. These are my two cents anyways.

The aftermath was clothespin upon clothesline of laundry getting aired out to dry. I can’t acknowledge that we felt more adventurous, in utilizing the lake to get our clothes clean, but I can commit to saying that as unconventional as it was, it was worth it, as well, the only available option.

Tips for Making Sure Your Combo Lasts

Thank you for the tremendous article on the Best RV Washer and Dryer Combo available Jeremy, it is loaded with information and I only wish I had found it earlier as just recently found myself outfitting my trailer with all new appliances!

My trailer had a space set up and ready for a washer and dryer combination which made it simple to move them in and set them up but arriving at the decision which was the best to purchase was not so simple at all.

I went with a portable option so that I could move them out and use them in my home in a pinch if need be but wish I had know about the Giantex Portable Washer and Dryer Combo because that would have saved a ton of space over the layout I ended up with.

    Keep up the good work!
